Payment links are a quick and easy way to request money from your customers in just a few taps. You create a link in the app, share it with your client, and they choose how they want to pay. It’s a simple way to get paid faster without needing to manually share your account details every time. 🔗
Your customers can choose between two payment methods:
Bank transfer: A direct transfer from their account to yours.
Card payment: Processed securely via Stripe.
You can offer both options or just one. If both are available, your customer decides which method suits them best.
How to set up a payment link
It only takes a few seconds to create a payment link within the app:
Open the app, tap the Get paid tab and select New payment link. 🔗
Enter the details. Input the amount, a short description, and your customer’s name. ⌨️
Create and share by tapping Create link and choosing how you want to send it; you can use email, WhatsApp, or text message.
Tap Done. ✅
You can keep an eye on all your active links in the Invoices and payment links list within the same tab.
What if a payment hasn’t arrived? 💭
If you’re waiting on a payment, first check which method your customer used. Processing times vary depending on whether they paid by transfer or card.
Direct bank transfers
If your customer chose to pay by bank transfer, the time it takes to land in your account depends on the service they used.
If they selected their bank from the list provided, it is usually sent as a Faster Payment.
If they chose "Pay by manual transfer", they may have used BACS or CHAPS.
You can check our guide on [bank transfer processing times](link to the bank transfer article) for more detail. If these timescales have passed, please get in touch with us via secure messaging in the app. 💬
Card payments via Stripe
Card payments rely on Stripe’s processing times, which are separate from the app. 💳
Note: If this is your first time receiving a payment through Stripe, it may take a little longer than usual to reach your account. This is a standard security measure and is completely normal.
To check the status of a card payment:
Log in to your Stripe account to see if the payment is "Pending" or "Succeeded".
If you're still unsure, you can reach out to Stripe Support directly for more information.
