The scheme is designed to give you peace of mind when managing your regular business bills. It provides several key layers of protection:
You stay in control: Money cannot be taken from your account unless you have given your permission and signed an agreement.
You get advance notice: If a company needs to change the amount, date, or frequency of a payment, they must tell you in advance. This ensures you have enough time to prepare your funds.
You’re entitled to refunds: If a mistake is made by either the bank or the merchant, you will receive a full and immediate refund into your account while the error is being investigated.
You can cancel at any time: You are free to stop a Direct Debit whenever you choose. You can do this quickly through the app, though we also recommend contacting the company to let them know the agreement has ended. ✅
