We aim to make sure your payments are processed quickly and securely. Most payments in and out of your account are completed via the Faster Payments Service (FPS), which is the standard for electronic transfers in the UK. 💸
You can receive BACS and CHAPS payments directly into your business account. Because these use different banking systems than Faster Payments, they have different processing times.
Note: Transfer times depend on the payment type being used. BACS and CHAPS payments are only processed on working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays.
Faster Payments
Most payments sent using this service clear within two hours. ⏱️
Occasionally, payments can take up to 24 hours to fully clear. Some financial institutions take longer to process transfers, especially if the receiving bank has additional security checks or internal policies that cause a delay.
CHAPS payments
CHAPS is typically used for high-value transactions that need to settle on the same day.
Payments received before 15:00: These are processed the same day and will usually show in your app that evening (typically around 19:00).
Payments received after 15:00: These will appear in your business account on the evening of the next working day.
BACS payments
BACS is often used for regular payments like salaries.
Processing time: BACS payments take three working days to clear into your account.
What should I do if a payment hasn't arrived?
We ask that you wait 24 hours for Faster Payments to resolve standard banking delays. If your payment hasn't cleared after this timeframe, please contact our support team via secure messaging in the app. 📲
