No, the app cannot cancel a pending transaction once it has been authorised. When you use your card, the merchant receives an immediate "authorisation" which legally reserves those funds. Only the merchant has the power to release this hold. Even if an order is cancelled, the funds will usually remain pending until the merchant's system updates or the authorisation expires naturally.
Why can't I cancel it
When you tap your card or enter your details online, you are giving the merchant a guarantee that the funds are available.
The Legal Hold: Once the merchant has that authorisation code, the money is committed to them. We cannot interfere with this agreement without the merchant's consent.
Automatic Release: If a merchant doesn't claim the money (for example, if an order was out of stock), the funds will automatically drop back into your available balance. This typically takes between 3 and 7 days, though it can occasionally take longer depending on the merchant’s bank.
How to get your funds released sooner
If you need a pending transaction removed urgently, you must contact the merchant’s customer service team directly. They are the only ones who can void the authorisation.
If they agree to release the funds, but the transaction is still showing as pending after 24 hours, our support team may be able to manually intervene. To do this, you will need to provide us with a screenshot or email from the merchant that clearly shows:
The Authorisation Code (a 6-digit number).
The Transaction Date and the Exact Amount.
A statement confirming they will not claim these funds.
Without these specific details, our team cannot manually override the merchant's hold, and the funds will stay pending until they expire automatically. ⏳
