What is Authentication and its use?
Authentication gives your account an extra layer of protection. It makes it much harder for anyone else to access your payment details or spend your money online.
When you check out online, you might see logos like Mastercard SecureCode, Identity Check, or Verified by Visa. These logos mean the seller uses 3DS to confirm your identity securely. We use 3DS 2.0 to make paying online safe and smooth for you.
What is 3DS?
3DS is a standard authentication protocol designed to verify that the person making an online purchase is truly the legitimate cardholder. It provides additional security for your online payments and helps to reduce the chance of a scammer using your card details to complete payments.
Is 3DS active on my card?
Your card is automatically enrolled in 3D Secure (3DS), so you don't need to do anything. When you buy something online, we may ask you to approve the transaction to confirm it's really you making the payment. We usually do this by asking you to log in, check the payment details and confirm that you wish to make this payment.
