Opening a business account is an exciting step for your new venture! 🥳 We'd love to help every entrepreneur, but we can only support certain types of businesses right now. To help you check if we're the right fit for your business, we’ve put together some simple guidelines on who can apply for a business account.
Business type: You must be a sole trader 👤 or the director of a limited company 🏢.
Age: You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Residency: You must be a UK resident 🇬🇧 to open and manage the account.
Limited company requirements
If you're applying for a limited company account, your business must also meet these specific criteria:
Registration: Your business must be registered as "Active" with Companies House.
Ownership: Your business must be limited by shares and owned entirely by individuals, rather than a holding company.
Structure: The business must have no more than two directors. Additionally, all Persons of Significant Control (PSCs) must live in the UK.
Note: Only the person who opens the account can access it, even if the company has two directors. We don't currently offer multi-user access. ✅
