When you start an application for an account, we’ll ask you for a photo of your ID and a selfie. This is a vital step that protects you and your business from identity theft. 🛡️ To ensure you receive a decision within the same business day, please provide clear, original photos that follow the guidelines below. We use these only to verify your identity and will never use them as a profile picture.
Accepted forms of ID
We can only accept the following original, physical documents:
Passport 🛂
Driving licence 🪪
European ID cards 🇪🇺
Note: We don't currently accept UK Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) for new applications.
Tips for a perfect ID photo
To avoid delays, follow these steps when capturing your document:
Check the lighting: Use a well-lit area so all text is easy to read.
Avoid glare: Take the photo from directly above to prevent reflections from overhead lights.
Show the edges: Ensure all four corners of the ID are visible in the frame; we can’t accept cropped images.
Use the original: You must photograph the physical document itself. We can't accept photos of a screen or a photocopy.
Tips for a perfect selfie
The app will ask you to take a real-time selfie to confirm it's really you. 🤳
Clear your face: Remove any hats or sunglasses so your entire face is visible.
Stay in focus: Ensure the image is sharp and not blurry.
Real-time only: The app requires a live photo. We can’t accept a "photo of a photo."
What happens next?
We keep your details strictly for our records to keep your application secure. If your ID is damaged, expired, or the photo isn't clear enough, we'll send you a secure message in the app asking you to retake it. Keeping your notifications turned on will help you see these updates immediately. ✅
