We are currently moving all customers to our new banking partner, Griffin. Griffin can only open accounts for active businesses. If your company is dissolved, we cannot migrate and upgrade your account.
We also cannot keep your current account open as our legacy platform is closing, so all legacy Countingup accounts will officially close on or after 17 November 2026. If you're intending to stick with Countingup, we need your account to be active and updated by 8 November 2026.
Companies House regularly updates us on the status of registered businesses. If they tell us your company is dissolved, we must suspend your account.
As a dissolved company no longer legally exists, it cannot legally trade or hold a bank account.
If your balance is zero, no funds are trapped. You do not need to take any action.
What if this was a mistake?
✅ Sometimes Companies House strikes off a company by accident. This usually happens due to missed filings or outdated addresses.
If you want to keep trading, you can restore your business. You must do this directly with Companies House.
Check your company status on the official Companies House register.
Read the administrative restoration guidance on GOV.UK.
Submit form RT01 and pay the statutory fees.
Will restoring my company automatically save my account?
No, it will not. Restoring a business usually takes several weeks, so simply applying to restore the business via Companies House will not pause or prevent your account closure. At the moment, we aren't able to reactivate closed accounts or accept multiple applications for the same business.
We want to be completely clear so you do not waste money expecting to save this specific account.
Once Companies House confirms your business is active again, please get in touch, and we'll do what we can to keep your account active.
